What will keep the remote door lock from working?

The remote door lock allows you to lock or unlock your vehicle from outside of the car. However, there are a few things that will keep the remote transmitter from working: 1. If you are not within range of the vehicle, the remote transmitter will not function. 2. If the battery in the remote transmitter key is dead, the lock and unlock features will not work. If the LED next to the lock button does not illuminate when a button is pressed, then the battery is dead. 3. If any of the doors are open (including the trunk), the transmitter will not lock the vehicle. 4. If your signal is compromised in some way, the remote transmitter may not be able to function properly. For instance, if you are near a high-signal tower (such as a cell phone tower), the transmitter may have limited range.
