Q: Trunk slams closed

asked by on

I just purchased a 2014 Infiniti Q50 and the trunk is very heavy and closes fast and hard unless it is all the way open. Once all the way open it stays in place, but from 3/4 to below that it slams shut. Is this normal?

My car has 28000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

You have two hood support gas charged shock supports that when they are weak and low on charged gas will not support the trunk lid as it should. You need to replaced both sides.
