Gotcha. You can use a chemical paint removal or sand the paint off using a powered orbital sander and some fine grit sand paper. Then when you are down to bare metal, wash the door with a good detergent, let it dry and spray a primer coating, let that dry then paont the door.

You can then apply a clear coat after the paint fully dries. That will give it a shine.
