Q: The radio will not illuminate.

asked by on

The radio display does not illuminate anymore. The radio itself works fine. I checked the fusses under the hood and they are fine. What can I do to fix the light/illumination of the radio?

My car has 120000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there:

In most cases, this problem is caused by an electrical wire internally that has shorted and causes the screen to not illuminate. It can be fixed by a professional electronics expert, but the cost of doing this is often more expensive than the cost of buying and installing a new radio.
