Q: Stranded, no electronics, bad monovalve = consant heat = melted wire = short somewhere, diesel running al night, should I pull bat

tery to prevent a constant 65 amps flowing through the battery from my alternator?

Or in other words, is there concern that constant amperage might cause my battery to explode? I'm not worried about the short for just tonight only because all of my fuses are fine, and when my electronics died on me the battery lost its charge rather fast, so I doubt where ever it's shorted has high resistance that might cause a fire. Plus if it would have done any damage to the electronics it already would have. So theoretically (if I'm right about the short) there's just a closed circuit between my alternator (9.1v at 65 amp) and battery, and my main concern that's stopping me from sleeping is that my battery might overheat. However, on the other hand I don't want to risk ruining my alternator or voltage regulator if they're being wound all night without any kind of discharging. If that's not a concern at all, then I just pull the battery, right?
