Q: Put a new serpentine belt on a month ago and it started squealing again

asked by on January 03, 2018

I have a 01 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up. Serpentine belt started squealing. Changed the belt, and the new one didn’t squeal. That was about a month ago. The belt just started to squeal again. Like I said it’s only a month old. Doesn’t seem the squeal when the truck is in park

You should check to see if the tensioner is holding the belt tight enough. You may have a bad tensioner.
