Q: Not shifting when driving up a hill

asked by on February 12, 2017

While driving up a small hill my Jeep has stopped moving, a square with a "1" displays on the dash. I put it in neutral - then back to drive. This puts it is in gear and starts moving again. This has happened 3 times, each time while driving 20 mph or less. It feels like it's not shifting when it should and I'm concerned about the transmission.

Please advise if you think it would help to have transmission fluid flushed and filters replaced or if this may be a more serious issue.

Thanks! Deb
