Prior to and after a headgasket replacement the car from time to time refuseds to start. There is no smell of gas Mechanic's Assistant: Have you noticed an increase in fuel consumption? And how does the vehicle start—same as usual? The vehicle sometimes is very slow to catch. H Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? Thanks a lot for the question Can you connect the OBDII scanner and try to read the fault codes? If the car doesn't start, we need to check the fuel pressure and if there is sparks. Did you change the [spark plugs](/topics-spark-plug-nissan/)? Are the coil working correctly? About the other issues, they should be reflected in the OBDII connector. Thanks!

Thank you. It is scheduled for a scan on Monday. I was hoping you might provide some insight/direction. is it possible it could it be the ignition timing .??The spark plugs were changed
Automotive Expert
Thanks, I don't believe it is the ignition timming, did you check the coils? And the OBDII scan?

That will be done on Monday. It will sometimes start with no problem. What is your best guess??Is there anything else that should be checked
