Q: My gas cap was gone. I put gas and had to drive it home. It cranks like its going to start but won't actually start.

I drove from home to a dr, then to Safeway then to ampm where i discovered my gas cap gone. I put gas 2 days prior it was there. I pumped gas and had to drive it home. I got a cap now it cranks like its going to start but won't catch to start. I didn't find any evidence of sugar or anything.

My car has 17000 miles.
