I recently got my car's starter fixed. The mechanic did have an issue after replacing it to get the car to start. He fiddled with the sensor box, I think it's called. When I got my car back I noticed a ticking noise like a card in a bike spoke. Now it's louder more like a knocking noise when the gas pedal is pushed and when turned on. What could it be?

My car has 230000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
