I experience very harsh shifts between gears when I'm driving. As I accelerate (usually after I stop at a light then press gas, or with lots of stop and go traffic) the car will jerk as the gear shifts between 1,2,3. The lowest gear shiftings have the worst jerks, the latter gears are less but still sometimes noticible. This usually happens after the car has been on and running for about 5 minutes, when the engine has warmed up. I had the transmission fluid replaced a few months ago in hopes it would fix the problem, but it hasn't. My previous mechanic said my car likely needs a new engine. But I've heard other people with the same problem speaking of different solutions. Any idea what this could be?
