Q: Muffler hanging from bottom of vehicle.

asked by on March 21, 2016

The exhaust pipe is severed and the muffler and pipe are hanging from the bottom of the vehicle.

I recommend having a qualified mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, replace your severed exhaust pipe. The exhaust may have also damaged the manifolds of the engine and caused wiring damage to the exhaust sensors. The exhaust systems on these vehicles are known to rust and fall off at the connection at the convertor.
