if we are still misfiring after the new plugs it does sound like itll be fuel related to me, the fuel cleaner is a good idea but i do not think itll solve your issue. i would recommend we get fuel pressure tested to ensure the pump is healthy and working correctly and after that also look into the position sensors and ensure they are reading correctly. the fact that its intermittent makes it harder to narrow buts that where i would start.

Ok thanks I just hate wasting money on the dealer when they are guessing instead of being the experts. The service advisor told me that the plugs should be replaced every three years no matter the millage and that just did not make sense. If it was carbon why would restarting let the car run as normal? Intermittent issues are the worstThanks for thinking about it

correct, the fact that its intermittent makes me suspect an electronics issue or fuel in that order. this is why independent shops are better since they dont have the luxury of guessing. im glad to have helped!
Still not sure what you need?
Have a certified mobile mechanic diagnose what's wrong with your car, at your home or office.
You may have a defective transmission valve body or the transaxle is bad internally. The manufacturer recommends replacing the valve body assembly first and then the complete transaxle if the problem is still happening. I suggest having you transmission tested...
Sounds like you may have some internal leakage in the brake master cylinder. The brake master cylinder, if it is leaking internally, will maintain fluid level and allow the pedal to drop. It is possible that the leak is small...
Hello. From what you describe it would appear that your upstream oxygen sensors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/oxygen-sensor-replacement) are causing the issue. If you disconnect them and the vehicle runs better then it may very well be possible that the signal they are sending...
Hi, thanks for writing in. This is likely an issue with the audio control module which controls the output to speakers and any pre-amp controls. I recommend having one of our certified automotive technicians from YourMechanic come to your home...
Hi there: A sputtering engine is typically caused by fuel or ignition system failures. However, there are more than 20 individual parts that could be dirty, faulty or have electrical wiring issues that can contribute to your 2005 Volkswagen engine...
Hello, thank you for writing in. There are several causes for low compression. It was a great idea to test all cylinders. With only having low compression in one cylinder, the issue is likely an exhaust valve. The vehicle should...
Hello - the first task is to check for the problem codes which are setting the Check Engine light. This may be helpful in identifying the initial problem as well as the current problem(s). Usually, backfiring (https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/car-backfiring-and-spitting) in the intake...
This is likely related to your EVAP emissions system and something called a purge valve solenoid. The EVAP system prevents fuel vapors from the fuel tank from escaping into the atmosphere. The EVAP system collects and temporarily stores the fuel...
It's probably clutch related, for example due to worn out friction material and/or a pressure plate defect BUT it's also possible that the motor mounts could be implicated and the engine as well if the engine is bogging down (due...
