Q: How many hours labor to replace the fuel feeder hose

asked by on October 09, 2016

Gas is leaking from my truck I'm the middle above the transmission. I have been told its a fuel feeder hose it has rotted. Its a dealer part about $200. But I had a mechanic tell me the computer says this repair is 8 hours x $90 an hour to do and u have to lower the transmission. I laughed and said u have to drop the transmission I know u have to drop the gas tank and disconnect everything and pull out the line and put a new one in. Because the mechanic talking about transmission I'm thinking about going to the dealer even though they charge 149 an hour and they know what they doing they might charge me less. It doesn't take 8 hours to put in a fuel line feeder hose.

My car has 76000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
