Well I hooked up an aftermarket stereo system to my 2002 Honda Accord. 2 12 inch subwoofers, 1200 watt amp and a pioneer head unit. After I got it all hooked up and running correctly I started the car tested it out for about 15 minutes... Everything was fine and it sounded great. Well I go to leave about an hour later and my check engine light comes on and my car started having trouble accelerating. I pulled the fuse from the amp and pulled my negative battery cable and then put the battery cable back on left the fuse out and my check engine light went away and everything was fine again?? Was it pulling to much power? Should I hook up the remote wire somewhere else? Or could it be a bad ground wire? Mechanic's Assistant: Does the light stay on, or does it blink? Stays on Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Accord yourself? What have you tried so far? Nothing yet I just unhooked my system and the check engine light went away and the car was back to normal

Hi my name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I'll try to help you with this issue, the website may ask if you want a call, but that is up to you, So it sounds like your cars alt. cannot pull that kind of a load, which you may cause a issue with the PCM so I think if you have to have this system, then you may need to go to an automotive electrical shop and see if they can boost the power of the alt.

How can they boost the power of the alternator? I didn't know if maybe a had a bad ground wire or if I needed to rewire the remote turn on wire somewhere else. How can they boost the power of the alternator? I have it spliced into the 12v ignition wire on the back of the head unit in the harness.

On some alts. it is possible to change some parts internally to improve or increase the output of the alt. So when a car is built, they check how much power is needed when everything is turned on and then they install an alt. designed for that load, so when you put an amp that needs alot more power then you over load the system and this is your problem some times when people put in a large amp like the that the alt. may handle the load, but sometimes not.

My car AC make noise when on but quiet when off. I just replaced the entire system less than 2 years ago?
It sounds like you may have an internal component of the AC compressor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ac-compressor-replacement) failing. It is possible to be a bearing or another non serviceable item. I suggest having a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, diagnose the noise...

Why does fuse 13 under the hood keep blowing out?
The job of a fuse is to prevent electrical shorts or over voltage situations from damaging wiring or electronic components in the vehicle. If a fuse (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuse-replacement) keeps blowing, there is an electrical short in that circuit that is applying...
