Q: Hesitation in second and third gear

asked by on February 11, 2016

There is hesitation in second and third gear after 20 minutes of driving or if hot out.

I would recommend taking this to the dealership. There is a Technical Service Bulletin for the early Saab transmissions stating that there is a software update that can resolve this issue. I would have this issue taken care of sooner than later to prevent any further damage.

HI there - possibly. If it is one of the pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-buy-a-good-quality-oxygen-sensor), yes, it is possible to damage the catalytic converters. From the problem codes, this would be a "Bank 1/2, Sensor 1" - the operative information...
