I just replace the cylinder head on a 1996 Chevy S10 when you replace a cylinder head do you have to adjust the valves yourself or are they already pre adjusted before you put the head on the truck. I got the truck to crank but it sounds horrible it will not idle smooth it almost like it's surgeons up and down up and down. During the time why my truck was being fixed someone cut the cats of the truck And my o2 sensors are gone? Does that matter how it will run and idle

Howdy from Tennessee, I'm Chris aka Moose. Who am I helping today? I'm glad you've come here to get help. I will do my best to get the answer you are looking for. I help many customers, so sometimes my replies are delayed, I will respond once available. I try to be online at 1-5 pm and 10 pm-5 am every day. Your vehicle uses hydraulic lifters that take up the slack automatically. there is no adjustment needed. If they were lose you would be hearing a ticking noise. The O2 sensors tell the computer the oxygen content in the [exhaust](/topics-exhaust-chevy/). The computer uses that information to adjust the fuel spray length. With those sensors gone. The computer will adjust the air-fuel ratio incorrectly which can cause misfires, idle concerns, stalling, roughing rough, low performance. Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Press reply if you need to follow up. If you liked my answer please let me know so I can mark your question complete. Moose

I have access to a 95 sanoma for parts... What is tthe easist way to get the o2 sensors of of umit. I have tried with a cresit wrench and they want budg.. Like they are seized on there... What do u recomend to get them off and how should i clean them if they do come off.. I dont have the money to get new onesAnother thing is that when i do get it to crank the only is when i hold the gas pedal to the floor and whem it cranks if i try to give it gas its almost as if the motor wamts to cut off... Is that from o2 sensoi

You can soak the O2 sensors with liquid wrench for a couple of hours then use an O2 wrench or socket that is designed to go around the wires and grab more sides of the nut on the sensor. Once out you can clean them with a wire brush and some brake cleaner. An incorrect reading O2 can cause low performance, rough running, and stalling.

I got them off the othed truck and cleaned them with sand paper... The truck fired right up and idiling.. Now i have to get some new plug wires.... And figure out what to do about my exhaust someone cut my converter off

If you have the wrong parts on the truck, you need to address that. Diagnosing with incorrect parts will give incorrect results. Can you get the correct parts installed before we continue?

There is no need to tow it at all.
