Q: Car stereo not working right

asked by on

My car radio goes on and off at times, and I sometimes get static. The cassette player doesn't always work right.

Given the age of the vehicle, electrical connections should be inspected and the wiring checked for shorts or breaks in the insulation. There may be an internal failure in the unit itself. Have a mechanic trained in vehicle electrical systems inspect the electrical components. Consider one of our mobile experts here at YourMechanic.
