Q: Car makes sputtering noise

asked by on February 12, 2016

The car will not turn on. When the key is turned, it makes a sputtering/grinding noise. The Check Engine light is on.

If your car is making grinding noise, and will not turn on then that is a sign that serious engine damage may have occurred. I would recommend having a professional technician, such as one from YourMechanic, listen to the noise and diagnose your Check Engine Light to determine the severity of your issue and inform you of the repairs needed.
