Q: Car driving sluggishly and hesitating

asked by on

My car is sluggish and hesitates until it engages fourth to fifth gear.

Since this vehicle is a 1985 model, there may be more than one issue causing this problem. The hesitation and sluggishness that you are experiencing with your vehicle may involve fuel pressure or ignition system problems that these vehicles have had in the past. I recommend having a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, test your vehicle’s hesitation issue so that a proper diagnosis and repair can be made.
