Hi, my name is\*\*\*\*\* to justanswer. Lets see if we cant get you rolling again. I am reviewing your case and will be with you shortly. Thank you. **\*\*. During this conversation you will be given an automated offer for a phone call from justanswer, not me. You may accept or decline that offer. I don’t personally offer this service so if you take this another tech may call. Thank you\*\*** This would be the proper procedure: 1. Right Rear 2. Left Front 3. Left Rear 4. Right Front Effectively you are doing an X-pattern, starting with the wheel furthest from the Master Cylinder.

According to WIS, the procedure is left front, right rear, right front, left rear. it's a 2006 SAAB 9-3 Aero wagon

Make sure your lines are not kinked anywhere as well. Also check your flexible rubber hoses at the calipers and make sure none are twisted. Make sure the calipers are not mounted up side down as well. All bleeders should be pointing up. It is always best to start with the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder.

already changed the brake lines, master cylinder and brake booster. Calipers are installed correctly. Left front and right rear brakes bleed fine with no bubbles; right front and left rear brakes have little to no fluid coming out and brake pedal does not depress all the way. ABS light is on.

There may be an automated bleed procedure required to remove trapped air from the ABS control module. This is usually done with a SAAB specific scan tool. Was the ABS light on before you started your brake repairs? One trick you can try is bleeding it with the engine running. Sometimes the extra pressure will push out trapped air.

No. the ABS light came on only after replacing the master cylinder. The front left brake was locking up after replacing the brake booster. We did bleed the brakes with the engine running.
Automotive Expert
Did you replace the master cylinder as well, or just the booster?

as above, the ABS light came on after replacing the master cylinder

Have you tried driving the car after performing repairs? Sometimes the wheel speed sensors need to read wheel speed in order to reset? It does not need to be a long drive. Usually over 15mph will do the trick.

Not getting brake fluid to two wheels makes me too nervous to attempt driving the car at this point.
Automotive Expert
Have you checked for the ABS code?

Not yet
Automotive Expert
Were any of the calipers replaced?

Calipers were not replaced.

One thing that can happen as well is the inside section of the rubber hoses can break down and block the flow of brake fluid to the caliper causing two issues: Not allowing full hydraulic pressure to reach the piston, and not allowing the piston to fully release causing brake drag.

Anything else I can assist you with?

I don't think so. thanks

You are very welcome. Best of luck with your project, and happy New Year.
