Q: Can I start my car if tranny cooler lines are disconnected

asked by on September 12, 2017

My car has been in a front end collision. I'm going to rebuild it myself. Right now I've pulled the radiator, fan shroud and a.c. condenser out. I'm wondering is it possible to still start the car periodically to keep motor lubricated "as it's going to be sitting awhile" while the tranny cooler lines are disconnected from radiator without causing damage to the car.

My car has 165000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
