Q: Q: Thermostat leak

asked by on

replaced thermostat & gasket now have leak

My car has 1158000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The leak may be related to the gasket not sealing properly around the housing or potentially due to a cracked thermostat housing. I would suggest checking the housing for cracks. Try removing the housing and checking the gasket to be sure it sealed correctly and did not get twisted or pinched, which can sometimes happen.
