Q: 2013 Hyundai Sonata hybrid car battery

asked by on March 20, 2018

I tried to replace the car battery outside the dealer because they wanted to charge me $800 for a new one. When I bought a new battery, one which is listed as fitting my Hyundai, I found that you need to install it backwards so the posts are in the right direction. When I do this, the negative cable won’t reach the negative post. It’s and inch too short. I cannot connect the any new battery.

My car has 70000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.
