Q: 2008 Subaru WRX slight increasingly noticable hum that seems to be coming from front driver side axle noticable turning right

asked by on April 08, 2017

Slight increasingly noticeable noise that seems to be coming from front driver side axle area. It's more noticeable turning right, and not noticeable when left. It is sometimes present when going straight at times. No play in bearing with wheel off ground. All ball joints and struts are good, all axles look to be in non-damaged condition.

There is also a very mild vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel, pedals, as well as the car floor.

Problem is persistent regardless of brake application during operation (while pressing and also while not pressing)

Four new tires all were changed at same time in the past, also have been rotated properly. Lots of tire life left. Tires can ruled out.

My initial diagnosis resulted in the problem being found in one of two things.- Front CV axle or Front driver side wheel bearing assembly.

It's possible that I have no clue as well, this is my first AWD car if it's something within the drivetrain.
