In order to keep the roads of Maryland safe and drivable, there will have to be taxes that need to paid by citizens. Among the most common taxes that a person will have to pay is to get their car registered with the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. Every two years you will have to renew this registration. Using the internet to renew

Going in person
If you would rather go in person to get this process handled, then you will need to make your way to the county treasurer’s office. Be sure to bring in the following items:

Renew by mail
If you want to renew the registration on a car by mail, you will need to do the following:
- If you have any changes in address be sure to enter them
- Make sure the car insurance information is correct
- Submit payment in the form of a check or money order

- A passenger car that is up to 3,700 lbs. will cost you $135
- If the car is over 3,700 lbs., you will need to pay $187
The emissions testing
