How to Get Audi Dealership Certified

If you are an automotive mechanic who wants to improve and gain the skills and certifications that Audi dealerships, other service centers, and automotive technician jobs in general are searching for, you might consider getting Audi dealership certified. Audi has its own Audi Academy Technician Training Program, and this is the only path to become a certified Audi auto mechanic. Fortunately, there are several locations around the country that offer training on Audi vehicles.

How to become a certified Audi technician

When you decide to enroll in the Audi Academy Technician Training Program, you will learn to:

  • Road-test vehicles to ensure that repairs were done correctly
  • Perform service on Audi vehicles as it is authorized on repair orders
  • Work closely with other Audi service consultants, technicians, and management
  • Diagnose the causes of performance malfunctions and difficulties
  • Investigate Audi vehicles for any additional safety or service work that may need to be done

Audi Academy Technician Training Program

Unlike some auto manufacturers, Audi technician certification programs are offered only through authorized Audi shops and dealerships. Audi Academies are located throughout the country. In fact, most states contain at least one location where aspiring technicians can be trained and certified to work on Audi vehicles. Automotive technicians wanting to be official Audi mechanics must complete an Audi technician certification program before service centers and authorized dealers will allow them to work on the Q5, S7, RS 7, TTS, TT, A3, A4, and any other Audi models.

What can I expect for an Audi auto mechanic salary?

Of course, no one can calculate exactly how much an auto mechanic will earn. What you can do is look at salary figures from the city and state where you live. Obviously, mechanics with more training and those who have completed more coursework in auto mechanic school can expect to earn more than those who have not. The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) claims that in 2014 service mechanics and technicians employed at car dealerships earned a mean annual wage of $44,000. Statistically, graduates of Audi Academy technician training programs have found work at dealerships.

An alternate route to education

Veterans to Technicians is an accelerated technical training program Audi of America launched in July 2013. This program is open to any honorably discharged former military personnel who meet a list of qualifications. These qualifications include a high school diploma, a clean driving record, and three years' experience working as a mechanical technician. Audi FastTrack is a 2-week program that provides ex-military vets with a comprehensive education in Audi diagnostics and service.

Is going to auto mechanic school the right choice for me?

Being certified through Audi will ensure that you are up-to-date on all recent automotive technology, including hybrid vehicles. You might think of auto mechanic school as an investment in yourself, since your auto mechanic salary will most likely increase if you complete all your Audi technical training.

While Audi technician training and certification programs can be rigorous, they are the only path to becoming a certified Audi auto mechanic. By enrolling in an Audi Academy Technician Training program, you will be learning several additional skill sets and making yourself more marketable to dealerships and service centers.
