Q: Which fuse is electronically controlled with the iac , becuase i didnt see one fuse that said anything about the iac valveand when

asked by on February 09, 2018

Iac is new, air fuel ratio sensor is new, o2 sensor is new, ECT is new coolant temp switch, and thermostat, vacuum lines are new, egr valve passage cleaned and tested to be good, can't find the spec on the map sensor but seems to be working fine, pcv valve is new, and have ran sea foam through the gas, and intake trying to get this fluctuating idle to go away and still going from 1k to 2k rpms once the car warms up and gets to operating temp and then starts idling like that and I've checked for vacuum leaks everywhere and can't seem to find any, and throttle position sensor seems to be fine just can't find the spec of ohms on it, the temp gauge works when it wants too, and I was told maybe a fuse to the iac valve or a fuse that is electronically controlling other systems and the iac and couldn't find a fuse for it or any at all that are blown us we the hood and under the dash area.. Somebody ever have this issue and fixed it? Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated, thank you

Unless there is something visible like a vacuum leak through a cracked tube, to diagnose fluctuating idle speed a scan tool is essential to directly observe engine operating parameters. With regard to the idle air control valve, if you apply a scan tool you can see a read out of valve position and see if and how valve position fluctuates. If the component is operating out of range or not as expected then you would look at the electrical issues (fuses, wiring), referred to earlier. If you desire that this high and fluctuating idle problem be diagnosed and resolved by a certified Mechanic, dispatched by YourMechanic right to your location, please request an engine idle speed diagnostic - high idle and the responding certified mechanic will use a scan tool and get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

what is causing really rough idle.
Rough idling engines can typically be caused by ignition system or fuel system failures. This can be things like spark plugs (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/spark-plugs-replacement), spark plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor, the distributor itself, fuel injectors, fuel filter (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-filter-replacement), fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement),...
