a second key will work.
Hello, thank you for writing in. Due to the fact the other key is working, we know that the ignition is not the problem. Typically a key fails to work when there is physical damage to it. If this is the main key you use, chances are it has worn down at least a little bit. If the key does not look like it is bent, broken, or worn, then you may need to have it reprogrammed. This is best done by a technician or the dealership. If the key is not able to be reprogrammed, there may be damage to the inside electronics of the key fob. At that point your best bet is to have a replacement key made by the manufacturer. Start by comparing the failed key to the working key. Look for any abnormalities. From there attempt to reprogram or replace the key.
