Can I tow my car with the front wheels on the ground?
Towing your car might be unavoidable, and while Honda doesn’t recommend ever towing your Accord with the front wheels on the ground, there are a couple of things you can do in this situation. Here’s what you need to know:...
Car not shifting into gear and having electrical problems.
That does sound serious! From that description, it sounds like your Toyota Corolla has an electrical problem that needs to be addressed. The recommendation I have is to get your Corolla’s fuses checked. Fuses can be checked a few different...
Engine making chirping sound
Belts chirping or squeaking in annoying but usually not too serious. I've seen brand new belts chirp because of the ink that's on the belt for the part number and barcode. However, it could also be a bearing in a...
I step on the gas it feels like it is forced to accelerate and the rpm's shoot up. The obd 2 scanner reads po700.
The code P0700 is for the transmission having a problem. I would recommend checking to make sure the fluid is full and not pouring in any additives until the problem is diagnosed. If the fluid is full and it does...
Sometimes when Starting the car it only makes a clicking noise after a few tries to start it, it starts like nothing.
This may suggest a faulty starter solenoid. The starter solenoid is located on the starter and has internal electrical contacts that transmit electricity to the starter. When this fails, it may cause a clicking sound and will not allow the...
New starter, solenoid, and voltage regulator but starter just spins and doesn't crank the flywheel
If you hear the starter engage but does not turn the motor the flywheel on the engine may have missing teeth. The starter also may have a a bad drive then will not turn the motor. The starter will have...
Can I buy parts that are to be installed , or do you have to buy them. as in replacing an alternator.
If you provide the parts for a repair the parts warranty you got when you purchased the part is still good. You will not be covered for labor warranty for parts replacement when you provide the parts.
Replaced timing belt now car wont start 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser
Hi there - sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like the timing belt has possibly jumped a cog or three, or somehow the camshaft timing was somehow set incorrectly (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/why-timing-belt-replacements-can-be-tricky-by-marvin-sunderland). If the timing belt tensioner...
Wondering whether I can use prestone 5050 antifreeze coolant instead of fl22.?
While the green coolant or "safe for use in all vehicles" type coolants may be less expensive than what is in your cooling system, I HIGHLY recommend you do not mix them. Different coolants have different chemical properties. They can...
