Q: Was driving in manual mode and everything was fine, then suddenly couldn't accelerate. Rpm didn't move, pretty much no response.

I was driving my 2012 Chevy Cruze in automatic for about a 30 minute drive and everything was working fine. On the way back I put it in manual mode, and about 20 minutes in I was driving behind someone at a steady pace and when I went to accelerate, I noticed it wasn't responding. Rpm didn't rise just kept coasting so I pulled over and put it in automatic and everything seemed fine the rest of the way home. Ive noticed when driving in manual mode in the past, there were occasional moments where it seemed a little finicky, but never anything like that. Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated.

My car AC make noise when on but quiet when off. I just replaced the entire system less than 2 years ago?
It sounds like you may have an internal component of the AC compressor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ac-compressor-replacement) failing. It is possible to be a bearing or another non serviceable item. I suggest having a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, diagnose the noise...
