Why does the engine shake? I've changed the spark plugs but should I really go as far to clean the throttle body, change my motor mounts, and so on and so fourth? Anyway let me know. Thanks.

Why does my engine stall so much?
Greetings and thank you for writing in with this question! Does the Check Engine Light illuminate when the vehicle stalls? If so, a certified mechanic (like those with YourMechanic) can scan the vehicle computer for codes. This type of stalling...
If I modify my truck, will that affect how well the airbags and other safety gear work?
There are a number of ways for people to modify their trucks. Sometimes it is for utility reasons, like adding a snow plow. Other times the vehicle may be lifted to fit larger tires for better ground clearance. Here’s how...
Brake pressure low and brakes growling
Sounds like you brake pads are down to the metal. Brake pads have a metal backing plate, but the part that actually contacts with the rotor to stop your vehicle is a friction lining usually made up of an organic...
Car vibration when accelerating and cornering
Hello. This is typically either an engine mount (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/engine-mount-replacement) or a cv axle problem. Both of these will cause this. Most of the time it starts out as a motor mount issue which will end up causing a failure in...
Long crank time, low idle, and poor to no acceleration.
Hi there, thanks for writing in. I'd be happy to offer my insight. I would suggest checking the idle air control module (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-idle-control-valve). If the motor is starving for air (similar to an engine being choked at normal operating temp),...
Will it hurt my motor to switch from synthetic oil to conventional oil?
Hi there. There are varied opinions about switching from synthetic oil to conventional oil (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-are-the-risks-of-switching-to-synthetic-oil-in-older-cars). I am old school and believe you stick with the manufacturer's recommendation for oil type. Nowadays, most conventional oils are a synthetic-blend. I believe BMW...
The car's front wheels are poking in (positive camber) is that bad?
Camber (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-is-tire-camber) refers to the amount, if any, that the top of the wheel/tire assembly is tilted in (or out) relative to an imaginary perfectly vertical position for the tire/wheel. So if you are looking at the side of your...
I deflooded my 04 RX8 and got it started. It sputtered and stalled, then was able to keep it running for about 5 min or so.
Hi there. Usually when the motor becomes flooded or has a hard time maintaining a solid idle, it's caused by either a vacuum leak or a malfunctioning idle control valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-idle-control-valve). However, this issue may also be caused by bad...
