How do I get out of four-wheel-down towing on my Ford F-150?

The four-wheel-down towing feature allows you to tow the truck behind another vehicle. But, you should not drive with this feature on all the time. To get out of four-wheel-down towing.

  1. Move the transfer case to 2H. Press the brake pedal.

  2. Turn the ignition on without starting the engine.

  3. Shift out of neutral into any gear.

  4. Let off the bake. Look for message in cluster.

  5. Put the parking brake on and disconnect from the tow vehicle.

  6. Take the parking brake off and start the vehicle.
