How can I avoid carbon monoxide poisoning?

Your vehicle’s exhaust system creates a mixture that contains carbon monoxide, which is highly dangerous if consumed. Your vehicle is designed to not allow carbon monoxide into the cabin, but small amounts can enter the vehicle in certain scenarios. If your vehicle is parked, but the engine is running, you should do the following to help avoid carbon monoxide contamination: 1. Turn the climate controls to fresh air mode. 2. Set the vents to upper and lower air. 3. Turn the fan speed to high.
