Q: Car shutting off even with a new fuel pump.

asked by on January 07, 2016

Car starts but then shuts off. I just had a brand new fuel pump put on the vehicle recently.

In my experience I would recheck the fuel pump again since if it fixed the problem only a short period of time, then the new part may be defective. The fuel pressure test would let you know if it is working or not. A certified mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, can diagnose exactly what is going on.
