I have just enough knowledge to be a little bit dangerous. My 2009 SRX has 180,025 miles on it. It's a V-6 3600 liter engine and If I've been watching Scotty Kilmer videos before I bought the car I would never have bought the car!!
I can't get any money out of this car I've been offered $300 for it yet and I am beyond frustrated because it could be a $5000-car but spending $3500 to fix a car that's so difficult to fix is unrealistic.My husband has consulted with three mechanics close by and they don't want to work on it.What do I do? I cannot get this car running for less than $3000!

Sorry to hear about the troubles. You really only have 2 options. Replace the engine and sell it for $5000 or keep it. Cut your losses, sell it for what you can, and move on. Since you've already spent $4000 on it, and it sounds like you want to get rid of it, I would say just cut your losses and move on.

I would have it worked on if I could. Three mechanics and no one wants to work on this engine because it's just too hard. I am in Metairie Louisiana. We are kind of known down here in the New Orleans area for not having the sophistication of other cities. I know there must be a good mechanic around here but I don't know who they are!I know my options. It's just really hard to except since this is the second time I bought a car that has let me down after spending 3500 on the Audi and now this one.

Hi. Thank you. I have a corrupted V6 and a 2009 Cadillac [SRX](/topics-srx/). Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your SRX yourself? What have you tried so far? I had a Chevy Beretta with a V6 and thought this was the same [engine](/topics-engine-cadillac/) because it sounded so much like it Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the Cadillac? Is it an automatic or a manual transmission? However, this engine is aspirated which means it sucks too much oil and if I had the wherewithal I would sue Cadillac for a really bad engine design.
