My car's alternator died one night, and the next day I went on YourMechanic because I figured that it'd be the simplest, cheapest way to fix a car that wouldn't even start. Rocco was in touch with me right after I booked the appointment (at 1030 at night, no less!) so he could make sure he brought the right part to the appointment the next day. There were some slip ups in the supply chain, which weren't at all due to Rocco but meant he wouldn't make it on time, and he let me know about it well in advance and stayed in contact the entire time. When he arrived, he was simply amazing. He answered all my questions, he made sure it was the alternator that was bad before doing any other work, and he was totally fine with me just sitting nearby, observing what he was doing. He finished the job well under book time, documenting things along the way, then did the inspection and calmed my nerves (this is the oldest car I've owned, and I'm not used to driving cars that were made over two decades ago), and even taught my dad something new. Overall, Rocco was probably the best possible introduction to YourMechanic. I feel like I lucked out getting Rocco on my first booking, because he made me a complete supporter of YourMechanic. Thanks to him, I'll be using the site again and recommending it to others, and I'll definitely direct anyone who needs work done to him.

Answered by Michael
Hello, the transmission your car is equipped with has a dedicated band that locks up to one of the drums to make the trans rotate in reverse. This band is only applied in reverse and manual low (putting the shifter...
Q: Air conditioning not working
Answered by Mia
Hi. The air conditioning system works by removing excess heat from inside the vehicle and transferring it outside. There are countless reasons your air conditioning might not work, from a failed compressor to having a low refrigerant level. A trained...
Q: AC squeaking
Answered by Mia
Your vehicle only uses a single serpentine belt. So, if you're only hearing the noise when the A/C is turned on and not all the time, the belt and tensioner are not to blame. My guess is that the noise...
