How to Get Land Rover Dealership Certified

As a mechanic, have you ever considered enrolling in an auto mechanic school and getting dealership certified? Doing so can only increase your job opportunities, make you more marketable, and show employers that you have the desire and the skill set that they are looking for. Plus it will increase your salary! In the following article, we will discuss how to become certified to work on Land Rover vehicles.

Land Rover Training and Development

Land Rover Training & Development (JLR T&D) is for technicians interested in working on their products. JLR T&D offers online courses. Some of these courses are offered online and some are in the classroom. You will also receive hands-on training to help you improve your skills.

In JLR T&D, you will take classes on:

  • Drive Train/Transmission

  • Air Conditioning
  • Electrical Fundamentals

I-CAR

A company called I-CAR has begun to offer Land Rover Aluminum Repair Network training. In order to take this training, you will need to attend the I-CAR collision repair programs. Additionally, before entering the program, you will need to complete:

  • Welding Training & Certification: Steel GMA (MIG)
  • Welding (WCS03)
  • Measuring (MEA01)

Before you attend the JLR Aluminum Repair and Welding Course, you must complete:

  • Welding Training & Certification: Aluminum GMA (MIG)

  • Aluminum-Intensive Vehicle Repairs (ALI01)

However, if a Land Rover certified technician has already completed one or all of the above courses, he/she will not have to take it again. The required structural courses are for Land Rover certified structural technicians only.

Whether you want to learn more about Land Rover products for your own benefit or you would like to take your skill set to the next level, becoming a Land Rover certified technician would only expand your career options. Competition in the automotive industry is fierce. Any time that you can add another skill set or learn more about a specific product, you will have an advantage over the competition.
