Hi there - the first task is to have the transmission fluid level checked. This will require technical assistance and a lift, since there is no dipstick on this model, and the fluid level "port" is underneath. Correct fluid temperature is also required. If the fluid level is correct, and this is "lifetime" fluid, I would then recommend a transmission inspection by a reputable transmission shop, or by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, and give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs. There may be a problem with fluid pressure internally to the transmission (pump or valve issue), or a transmission clutch problem.

Engine not turning over when starting.
The most common problem for the engine that will not crank (if the battery is okay) is the starter. I recommend that starter is checked (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/car-is-not-starting-inspection) for proper power getting to it from the battery and the ignition switch before...

2005 Kia Sorento EX 3.5L eng. Problem: coolant leaking below the air intake. I replaced the "O" rings on large and small water
Hi there. The best way to pinpoint any coolant leak is to complete a pressure test of the system. Eric the Car Guy on YouTube.com has a pretty good video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5p-G3UDi-A) on how this is done.
Car idle sputters and engine dies when AC clutch engages
Hi there. In most cases, when the AC compressor and clutch engage, it will draw extra 'power' from the engine and cause the idle to slightly drop. However, this can cause existing issues to be amplified. For example, if you...
Driving down road all warning lights come on then go off.
The oil pressure light will usually come on when a few things could be happening. Either the motor is in fact low on oil, the oil pump could be failing or not pumping oil sufficiently or the oil pressure sending...
Car will turn over but won't start?
The most common cause of no start on these vehicles is the ignition components inside the distributor causing no spark or sensor reading to computer. Most times replacing the distributor fixes the problem of no spark.
My heater only blows out hot air when going down the road and rpms reach about 2 if or when i slow down or stop it blows cold
This can sometimes happen when the coolant level is low or leaking. The coolant gets hotter as the RPMs rise. This can cause hot coolant to reach the heater core during high RPMs but not low RPMs. I recommend having...
