This was the first time I had tried YourMechanic. What a great idea this service is - I hate dropping my car off and making all of the arrangements back and forth to get service. After reading several reviews, I decided to try the service myself. This review is from a real customer, and this is my real experience.
First off, it is pretty cool that you can read feedback on the mechanic you are choosing before the appointment so you know who is showing up at your location. Shawn arrived with a YourMechanic identified on the side of his car, and was wearing a shirt branded with YourMechanic. Even though the appointment was scheduled at 8:00 am on a Friday morning, he was exactly on time. He laid out a tarp under the engine on the driveway as to protect any fluid leaks from staining my driveway and had whatever catch pan he needed as well. Shawn was personable, knowledgeable, and patient about any questions I had, whether regarding the schedule service for the thermostat change or questions about my engine in general. The work I requested was performed timely, skillfully
, and thoroughly. Not once did I feel like my service was rushed. As he was topping off the anti-freeze and running the engine, he inspected other issues and noted some things that he pointed out to me that may or may not need future attention. It was a great experience.
Shawn did a great job and I was completely satisfied. YourMechanic would be smart to try and retain this mechanic as he is an asset to the reputation of this company. Depending on the type of service I may need, I would definitely use this service again, and would not hesitate to request Shawn again.
