Q: What does the keyless entry keypad do?

While you have a mechanical key and a remote entry system for your car, you may also have a keyless entry keypad. This is another way of locking and unlocking the car, as well of doing several other things. Here’s what you can do with the system:

• Lock the doors without the key
• Unlock the doors without the key
• Turn the autolock and autounlock features on or off
• Open the liftgate glass on the back

Tips

• To use the keypad, you’ll need your five-digit access code
• Always try to press the middle of the keypad button to ensure accuracy
• Not all cars have the keypad – it’s optional equipment
