Q: What does the brake system Warning Light mean?

What does the brake system Warning Light mean?

The brake system Warning Light is located on your instrument control panel. The brake system Warning Light can illuminate for two reasons: 1. The parking brake is currently engaged. When the brake system Warning Light comes on, make sure that the parking brake has been released. 2. The brake system is malfunctioning. If the brake system Warning Light is illuminated, and the parking brake is released, then there is an issue with the brake system, and the vehicle should be inspected as soon as possible. Tip Like all warning lights, the brake system Warning Light will briefly illuminate when your vehicle is turned on. The light is only a problem if it stays lit when the engine is running.
