Hello. A P2181 cooling system code is really generic, and all it means is that the cooling system is too hot or too cold. Unfortunately that does not give you much to work with. Check the level of your coolant, and what the dashboard reads (which is not always accurate in low coolant level conditions). We need to start by finding out the temperature of the engine when running, and this needs to be done with a tool off of the vehicle for accuracy. There are several ways this can be done, and most automotive parts stores can test this for you. Once you know if it is too hot or too cold, you can do some further diagnostic testing, and take corrective action from there. For more help with this testing, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.

no power on car unless the gas is floored
Hello. It is possible that the timing belt (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-timing-belt) and catalytic converter are damaged at the same time. Or for the same reasons. If the belt is ripping up, you should stop driving the vehicle ASAP as if it brakes...

What does 'auxiliary battery malfunction' mean? Also, I hit a trailer and broke a taillight yesterday, should I go to repair shop or dealer?
Your car has two batteries. One conventional sized battery manages the heavy loads like the starter and one smaller battery manages the body loads. The smaller battery is the auxiliary battery and it must be failing. Part of the point...
2009 Ford Escape has a code P0400 even after EGR valve replacement

had my fuel pump replaced and three days later my check engine light is on, why do I smell gas after driving?
If you were getting a fault code for Evap Leak or something similar, it may be due to the installation - saying this sight unseen of course. Noting that you smell gas, it's possible that the seal on top of...
