Q: Can I add Lucas oil "transmission fix" to my transmission fluid to see if it helps my issue.

asked by on

I have purchased "Lucas oil transmission fix" to see if it aids my transmission which lately has been rough getting into gears, but only sometimes or after extended driving. Very rough into reverse I usually just start the car with it already in reverse if necessary. I would like to know if I can just add this into the transmission fluid, the reservoir appears full so I may need to drain a small amount first.
My car has a manual transmission.

Adding an additive to the transmission to try and fix a problem will not work in most instances and should only be used as a last resort before getting a transmission overhaul.

Hi there. The first thing I'd verify is that you're getting power to the fuel pump; as it's possible that this is the source of your starting problem. If you are getting power, remove a fuel line prior to the...

Q: Brand new battery keeps being drained. I found the interior light switch does not work. Could this be the culprit?

Even though you have a "new" battery, it does have to be load tested just to be sure. Such is not a problem though as many large battery vendors will do it for free. Once you have confirmed the battery,...
