Q: Air only works sometimes

asked by on

The air conditioner doesn't always work.

Hello. The main cause of a AC system that only works sometimes on this vehicle is a faulty pressure switch. Not replacing a faulty pressure switch will cause the wrong signal to go to the module causing the compressor to shut down. There are also issues with the temperature sensors, but those are not as common. I typically install a computer scan tool to monitor the sensor readings when the system is not working to find the failure as these systems can be complex.
