How to Buy a Good Quality Sunshade

Sunshades provide you with protection from the sun’s glare while you’re driving or protect the steering wheel and dash from heat and light while you’re parked. There are several types offered on the market – you can purchase replacement sun visors for your car if the ones that came from the automaker are worn or damaged. You can also find aftermarket sunshades that attach to the inside of the windows. These are available in two types – you can choose solid, fixed position shades or pull-down shades.

Buying a high quality sunshade will provide your passengers with protection against bright sunlight while driving. Make sure that you buy a good quality product capable of holding up to UV rays.

  • Type: First and foremost, make sure you choose the right type of sunshade. A fixed position shade might be a good choice if you want to protect an infant riding in a car seat, but an older child or an adult passenger will probably appreciate a pull-down shade.

  • UV Resistance: UV light will degrade the material of the shade over time. Look for shades that are rated for UV resistance (it should be noted on the package).

  • Shape and Size: You’ll find sunshades available in a number of different shapes designed to fit different types of windows. Make sure the shape you choose works with your window. You should also make sure that it’s sized appropriately (a wider or taller window on an SUV or full-sized sedan will need a different sunshade than the rear passenger window on a subcompact). If you’re looking for a sunshade for your windshield, make sure it’s rated for your vehicle (check the specs on the packaging).

With the right sunshade, you can enjoy a long service life, while providing protection for your passengers.
