Q: Car is not starting

asked by on

I cannot get my car to start.

Hi. In a no start situation, there are always a few items that would need to be looked at. The first thing that is generally done is to read out any trouble codes in the engine computer. If codes are present, then these factors will need to be corrected. Fuel pressure and volume need to be checked, the ignition system needs to be checked for spark output, and the air induction system will need to be inspected for the proper output. One last possible cause, if no codes are stored, is the possibility of a faulty engine computer. All power supplies to the engine computer need to be verified and all ground circuits need to checked for less than a 0.1 v drop. You may want to enlist the help of a mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, who has the diagnostic equipment and training to help in the diagnosis of your Sentra’s no-start condition.
