I could not be happier with Ben's work. He himself was professional and on time, but most importantly he did the work properly. I have sought automotive repair and maintenance from many sources including multiple dealers and I keep finding crooked and/or incompetent work being done, so it is a relief YourMechanic connected me with Ben. Having him come by and work on my car while I take care of my 4 month old and 3 year old daughters was a very big advantage, but the most important asset he brought was his decades of expertise in mechanical engineering. I cannot emphasize enough how hard it is to find someone who actually knows what they are doing. In the midst of a growing family and the responsibilities that come with it, having an honest go-to guy to take care of a large asset like my car is a huge relief. He helps me take care of my other baby.

David was great and we were very happy with his service. He showed up 15 minutes early which was very impressive. Was clean and thorough and explained everything in detail. I will definitely have some other services done on our cars and will request David do the work.

Kyle was professional and quick, and I appreciated the information he provided on the issue with my car. Although he did call to let me know his previous appointment ran late, he stated his ETA would be 20 minutes but ended up being an hour. My 10:00 appointment time ended up starting well after 11.

All about Serpentine/Drive Belt Replacement

The serpentine/drive belt or v-belt is a rubber belt that connects the alternator, power steering, and AC to the part of the engine (crankshaft) which transfers the power from the engine to those components. Without this belt, the battery will not get charged and none of the electrical accessory components in the car will work. The serpentine belt and v-belt are also known as "drive belts." Because of the high amount of heat in the engine, the belt can develop cracks over time and eventually break. If the belt breaks, the steering wheel will be difficult to turn and driving will be hazardous. In some cars, water pumps are driven by the drive belts. If the belt breaks, water and coolant needed to keep the engine cool will not properly flow to the engine. The engine will overheat, potentially causing severe damage.
