I got into my Elantra to go to lunch, turned the key and...nothing. The dashboard lights flickered a bit, there was some clicking, but nothing else happened. Since I've used YourMechanic in the past for a previous battery problem with my Mustang, I decided to schedule an estimate to diagnose the problem since I believed it to be a battery issue. Yup, it turned out to be a dead battery, which he went and got and, of course, installed and fixed. Lucas was excellent, courteous and explained the issues at hand.

This was the second time I had Jose out to work on my car. As with the first time, Jose is very professional. He shows up on time and in uniform. That is impressive in it self these day. He's very knowledgeable and explains things well. He has worked now on both of my cars and I've been happy with the results each time. I will always be requesting Jose for my auto care.

All about Ignition Coil Replacement

Ignition coils transform low voltage electrical power 12 volts D.C. to high voltage current 50,000 volts D.C. or higher. The spark generated by the ignition coil ignites the fuel and air mixture in the engine that enables the car to start and run smoothly. If an ignition coil is not working properly, no spark will ignite the air fuel mixture, causing a misfire. A bad ignition coil can severely damage the engine or catalytic converter. If your car is equipped with “coil over plugs,” then it is recommended that you replace the spark plugs. If your car uses a single coil for the ignition system, it is not necessary to change the spark plugs.
