What is cleaning the throttle body all about?

In order to run efficiently and smoothly, your vehicle needs a fuel mixture that is a perfect combination of air and gas. The air intake system is responsible for providing the air part of this equation. The throttle body is the component of the air intake system that determines exactly how much air to let combine with the fuel. When the throttle body is dirty it’s unable to let the right amount of air into the engine.

Keep in mind:

The air intake ducts should be examined when the throttle body is cleaned.
When the throttle body is cleaned, the entire air intake system should be inspected.

How it's done:

Take the snorkle off the throttle body
Spray brake cleaner on the throttle plate
Scrub plate with a brush
Spray the brake cleaner again
Reconnect snorkle

Great service! I'll use this for the entire family. Erick was running a few minutes late but texted me when he was on the way which I really appreciated. I don't mind that he was a little late because taking my car to the shop is such a hassle. Once Erick arrived he was friendly but got right to work and had the job done quickly. He mentioned a couple of things to think about for the future, basically some upcoming maintenance items I thought might be coming up as my car has 90K miles on it now. Again, great service overall and I really appreciate how friendly Erick was. He even scheduled a follow-up for me in a couple of weeks, without me having to lift a finger.

I have used many mechanics in my day and Rusty is probably the most knowledgeable mechanic I have ever talked with, not to mention showing up on time and completing the work when he said it would be done, because he came prepared. I have to admit I was very skeptical about hiring an online mobile mechanic (wasn't sure who or what was going to show up) but when Rusty arrived, he let me know he was here and got straight to work. This guy is definitely NOT a "shade tree" mechanic, if you are thinking about using this mobile mechanic service Rusty is the guy to go with.
